Overview
Classic Order Mode (also referred to as Advanced Mode) provides a traditional trading interface designed for users who prefer the layout commonly used across many cryptocurrency exchanges.
Flipster’s default interface is Simplified Mode, which focuses on ease of use and a streamlined trading experience. However, some traders are more familiar with traditional order form layouts that provide more visible trading information and configuration options.
To support different trading preferences, Flipster offers Classic Order Mode as an optional interface that follows a more conventional trading design while maintaining Flipster’s trading performance and infrastructure.
Classic Order Mode is currently available on the Flipster mobile app for Perpetual Trading only.
Key Features of Classic Order Mode
Classic Order Mode provides a more detailed trading interface that includes the following components:
Full Chart View
The trading screen displays a full chart along with market information, allowing traders to analyze price movements before placing an order.
You can access:
- Trading charts
- Order book
- Market statistics
- Social sentiment
- Price alerts
- Favorite trading pairs
This layout allows traders to monitor market activity and trading opportunities in one place.
Traditional Order Form Layout
Classic Order Mode uses a traditional order form design commonly found on other trading platforms.
Available configurations include:
-
Margin Mode
- Cross Margin
- Isolated Margin
-
Leverage Selection
- Adjust leverage depending on your trading strategy and risk tolerance.
-
Order Type
- Market Order
- Limit Order
⚠️ Note: Trigger Orders are not available in Classic Order Mode. If you want to place a Trigger Order, you must switch to Simplified Mode.
Position Size and Order Calculation
Classic Order Mode displays several values to help you determine your order size and margin usage.
Available Margin
The Available value shows the amount of margin you currently have available to open new positions.
This value is calculated based on your margin mode:
- Isolated Margin: Based on your isolated margin available for the selected asset.
- Cross Margin: Based on your cross margin available balance.
The Available value is for display purposes only and does not determine the maximum order size directly.
Max Order Size
The Max value represents the maximum position size that can be opened based on system risk limits.
The calculation follows the same logic used by the Simplified Order Form 100% shortcut.
The system determines the maximum order size by considering three factors:
- Available margin
- Maximum allowable position size
- Maximum allowable order amount
The system then selects the smallest value among these limits.
In simplified terms:
Max = minimum of
- Available margin
- Maximum position size allowed
- Maximum order size allowed
This ensures that orders remain within platform risk limits.
Position Size Slider
The position size slider allows users to quickly adjust their order size.
Important behavior:
- The slider is calculated based on the Max value, not the Available value.
- Moving the slider toward 100% means using the maximum allowable order size permitted by system limits.
- The calculation logic is the same as the Simplified Order Form 100% shortcut.
For quantity-based orders, a small safety buffer based on market slippage may be applied to help reduce the likelihood of order rejection.
No Available Funds
If your account has no available margin, the system will display the Max value as “–”.
This behavior is consistent with how other calculated values (such as margin and liquidation price) are displayed when insufficient funds are available.
Order Types Available in Classic Order Mode
Market Order
A Market Order executes immediately at the best available price in the order book.
Example
BTC perpetual price: 60,000 USDT
If you place a Market Buy Order for 0.1 BTC, the order will execute immediately at the best available sell price.
Market orders prioritize execution speed, but the final execution price may vary slightly due to market liquidity.
Limit Order
A Limit Order allows you to set the specific price at which you want to buy or sell.
The order will only execute when the market reaches your specified price.
Example
Current BTC price: 60,000 USDT
You place:
- Limit Buy Order
- Price: 59,500 USDT
- Quantity: 0.1 BTC
Your order will remain in the Pending Orders tab until the market price reaches 59,500 USDT.
Limit orders provide better price control but may take longer to execute.
Orders and Positions Tabs
Classic Order Mode provides access to your trading activity through two main tabs.
Orders (Pending)
Displays all pending orders that have not yet been executed.
Positions (Open)
Displays your active positions, including:
- Entry price
- Mark price
- Unrealized PnL
-
Margin used
